After getting a satisfactory answer to questions like “Where to Buy Engine Oil…?” and so on, it is the time to change the engine oil of your favourite two-wheeler. Before proceeding, make sure that you have the right bike oil as per the recommendation of the owner’s manual. Now, let us see how you can change your bike oil by simply following these steps –

  • Primarily you need a rear paddock stand. If your bike comes with a double stand, then you need not to use a paddock stand. Stand it your bike and gather all the equipment.
  • Now remove the oil cap of your engine. It is always recommended because air needs to pass through the engine. It not only helps in draining out the oil properly but also gives you a clear visibility of the residue remained.
  • It is now time to remove the drain bolt. Before removing, be careful. Arrange a container sufficiently large to hold the entire used oil. Removing the drain bolt is not a big deal, and a simple socket wrench can be used to do the same. A rubber mallet can also be used on the socket handle if you face any difficulty.
  • After the entire oil was cleared, it is the time to remove the oil filter. You can remove it by hand and if it has a nut, try a suitable equipment.
  • Observe and wait for the entire oil to drain out. Then replace the oil filter. It is recommended to change your oil filter in every two-oil change.
  • Refill with new oil and replace the oil cap securely. Always refill in accordance with the recommendation mentioned in the owner’s manual.
  • After filling bike oil, start the engine and check the oil level through the sight glass. Add more, if needed. You’re now done.

It is the time to enjoy your ride!

There are various qualities, which both the individuals and machines share in like manner. Being a machine, bikes too require a medium through which they can work in their best gauges and up to their certifications. Similarly, as the blood demonstrations a streaming lease of life for us people, the engine oil, or grease as it's been said, is altogether in charge of the smooth and inconvenience free operation of the engine of a cruiser. The life span, general execution, productivity, NVH levels and life depends a ton on the engine oils. There are a few attributes, which these engine oils join. How about we conceal them one-by-one.

Performing such a variety of multi-useful assignments needs a lot of qualities and characteristics, and the engine greases have a progression of them. The Hero bike oils for the most part comprised of hydrocarbons, which have 18 to 34 carbon iotas for each atom. Such high proclivity of carbon brings about the better withstanding activities, which are craved from the engine oil.

The first and the most vital property to be looked upon in a Honda scooter oil is the consistency, which is essentially the thickness of the stream of the oil, or the resistance measured to the stream. For an appropriate greasing up thin film between the moving contiguous engine parts, the engine oil must have reasonably high consistency, with the goal that it might likewise stream around the segments of the engine. The consistency of this engine ointment is characterized by its thickness list, which tells that what will be the adjustment in the consistency of the oil according to the varieties in temperature.

The engine oil ought to have the capacity to stream in every one of the scopes of the temperatures, even in the least of them, so that there is insignificant contact between the metal segments. The least temperature at which the greasing up oil quits pouring or stops truly is known as the pour point. According to the SAE details, the 'Cool Cranking Simulator (CCS)' and the 'Smaller than expected Rotary Viscometer (MRV)' are the properties identified with pour point, which is required for determining the engine oil in outrageous icy conditions. Likewise, because of the high partiality of carbon, the oil tends to consume if touched off. Along these lines, the least temperature at which the start of the oil happens is called streak point. For a decent engine grease, the blazing point ought to be as high as would be prudent.

Since the engine oil is an oil, it can be acidic or essential in nature. It is this condition, where Total Base Number (TBN) and Total Acidic Number are mulled over. TBN alludes to the capacity of the oil to kill acids, though TAN is the measure of how the oil can kill bases.

We all know that car and bike needs engine oil as it protects them from corrosion at high temperatures. Bike oil protects the engine from sludge as well as from the other engine gunk. However, the thing is there are numerous myths regarding engine oil change and so on. In this blog post, we will break those myths and will let you know how you can maximize the performance of your two-wheeler with Veedol bike oil.
1. Once upon a time, almost all of the automakers recommended changing the engine oil in 3000 miles, but, nowadays it became a myth. New age detergent oils are more advanced and allow cars to go around 7500 miles approximately. The main reason behind this thing is advanced automobile engineering and improved oil viscosities.
2. One more thing you will hear that synthetic engine oils can cause oil leakages. It was somehow true and yes! It ‘was’ true in the early 1970s and oil manufacturers learned the reformulation procedure long ago. Nowadays, it is nothing more than a myth.
3. Another wrong conception regarding engine oil is regarding the nomenclature of the oil category. The “W” in a 10W-30 oil does not represent ‘weight’, instead it represents “winter”. Actually, the viscosity of any engine oil changes with temperature and this viscosity is measured in two ways – single grade & multi-grade. A multi-grade oil gives you both the cold and hot viscosities. That means in a 10W-30 Oil, the 30 is the same as represented by SAE-30 (Society of Automotive Engineers). While “W” is representing the viscosity of the oil in winter.
4. One of the most frequently thought conception about engine oil is, you need is change it as soon as it turns dark. However, this conception is not right. A dark engine oil means it doing its work just fine and dispersing the tiny particles (that causes sludge) and holding them in suspension what they are meant for. Of course, the oil has a limitation of how many of these suspended particles it can hold and that is why it is always recommended that follow the change interval recommended by your car’s manufacturer.
Therefore, if you want to stop spending unnecessary amounts, break these myths and stop unnecessary engine oil change.
