How to Change Your Two Wheeler's Engine Oil

After getting a satisfactory answer to questions like “Where to Buy Engine Oil…?” and so on, it is the time to change the engine oil of your favourite two-wheeler. Before proceeding, make sure that you have the right bike oil as per the recommendation of the owner’s manual. Now, let us see how you can change your bike oil by simply following these steps –

  • Primarily you need a rear paddock stand. If your bike comes with a double stand, then you need not to use a paddock stand. Stand it your bike and gather all the equipment.
  • Now remove the oil cap of your engine. It is always recommended because air needs to pass through the engine. It not only helps in draining out the oil properly but also gives you a clear visibility of the residue remained.
  • It is now time to remove the drain bolt. Before removing, be careful. Arrange a container sufficiently large to hold the entire used oil. Removing the drain bolt is not a big deal, and a simple socket wrench can be used to do the same. A rubber mallet can also be used on the socket handle if you face any difficulty.
  • After the entire oil was cleared, it is the time to remove the oil filter. You can remove it by hand and if it has a nut, try a suitable equipment.
  • Observe and wait for the entire oil to drain out. Then replace the oil filter. It is recommended to change your oil filter in every two-oil change.
  • Refill with new oil and replace the oil cap securely. Always refill in accordance with the recommendation mentioned in the owner’s manual.
  • After filling bike oil, start the engine and check the oil level through the sight glass. Add more, if needed. You’re now done.

It is the time to enjoy your ride!
